Nature's Food Patch Natural Market & Cafe (est.1987) is a community grocery store dedicated to offering a complete selection of quality organic and natural products. Inside our 22,000 SF  store we carry north Pinellas County's largest array of organic produce, bulk foods, groceries, meat & seafood, specialty wines & beers, cheeses & olives, herbs, vitamins, pet supplies, unique housewares & natural bodycare. Our popular deli serves up international, natural food cuisine. You'll find a sensational salad bar, hot bar & juice bar with fresh juices, smoothies & organic, Fair Trade coffee & tea. Enjoy all of this in our fabulous new café!

The store has been enthusiastically embraced by our health minded community and has continued to grow, going through a major relocation and remodel in 1996 and another remodel and expansion in 2010! "The Patch", as it is affectionately called by the locals, is a friendly gathering place, known for its commitment to organic foods, quality natural products, community involvement and health education.

Meet Our Staff
Store Director
Laurie Powers-Shamone -- 
Laurie has lead The Patch since 1988. She has worked almost every position in the store and has a total of 43 years in the natural products industry. She loves making someone’s dreams come true. “I love finding what people love to do and getting them into the position to do it.” Laurie is also an “Audubon birder, photographer of birds, a standard poodle lover and big into world travel.”

General Manager
Sean Balsley -- 
Sean started at The Patch in 1989. “I moved to Clearwater and started working at Natures Food Patch as cashier. I have done many jobs since being at “The Patch.” Sean enjoys the relationships that he has forged with the customers and the great people that he works with. Sean enjoys coaching his 9 year old son’s soccer team and being with his wife and 3 children.  He also plays basketball and enjoys going to the beach whenever he can.

Rebekah Santiago -- Rebekah started working at Nature’s Food Patch in 2002 as a Cashier. “My family shopped here when I was a child and I always loved the atmosphere when we walked into The Patch! I currently work as the Controller overseeing accounting, human resources, payroll and other behind the scenes tasks. I love working with people and numbers. In my free time I like to be with my family and friends. I also enjoy doing many different kinds of arts and crafts.”
Human Resources Manager
Dara Scholtz -- Dara was a teenager when she first joined The Patch from 1995-2000. After 12 years of management and HR experience she returned as our HR Manager in July of 2012. “I wanted to use my job skills with a company that was family owned and had good core values.” Dara is in charge of hiring our employees and managing the HR functions. When she’s not “changing lives one hire at a time” she loves cooking, music, singing and spending time with her family and pets.
Marketing Director
Cheryl Rosselle -- From 1997-2001 Cheryl held many different positions at Nature’s Food Patch. In 2007 she returned and worked vitamins dept. & then became a Shift Manager. Cheryl eventually transitioned into the marketing department, becoming the Marketing Manager & now the Marketing Director. She loves being creative & promoting something that she believes in. “I enjoy healthy foods, Mysore yoga, dogs & cats, reading, traveling & enjoying the Florida sunshine!”
IT Manager
Cyndi Briggs -- Cyndi grew up shopping at Nature’s Food Patch with her family and joined the team in 2002. “My job changes all the time. I am always upgrading equipment to the latest technology, so I’m always learning new things! I work with so many awesome people through the day and doing so many different things!” Cyndi loves to camp and go to the beach in her free time with her family, including her two puppies! 
Front End Manager
John Klein -- John has been with Nature's Food Patch since July 2010. He has over 30 years of experience in the food industry, with customer service being one of his specialties! “Assisting customers and working in a positive and happy environment” is his favorite part of working at The Patch. John loves playing pool, golfing and teaching himself how to play the guitar. 
Bulk Manager
Michael Henkel -- Mike started at Nature’s Food Patch in 1998. “As a customer before working at The Patch, I could see myself being here, learning about organic foods and making a difference in people's lives. Having worked in many areas of the store, I enjoy the diversity of my current role as Store Manager and Bulk Foods Buyer. I get to interact with the staff, customers and the food on a regular basis. Hobbies include politics, soccer, seeing live music and the beach.“
Wellness Manager
Bill Minster -- Bill started with Nature’s Food Patch in November 2007. His experience in the natural food industry started in 1992. At The Patch, he sources & purchases wellness products found in our store, inspecting ingredients to be sure new items keep up with our high quality standards. Bill enjoys “helping people achieve their goals in becoming healthier through supplements & diet suggestions.” 
Wellness Assistant Manager
Reef Powell-- Reef has been with The Patch since 2013. He has been around health food his whole life. “I try to be as healthy as possible and stay up to date on current products and information which allows me to try new things. I really like helping people and learning something new every day.” Reef was born in the Caribbean and lived on a boat for much of his life. In his free time, Reef enjoys biking and you guessed it, surfing! 
Produce Manager
Ed Lucia -- Ed has an extensive background in organic gardening. After college, Ed has worked for “Community Supported Agriculture” for 18 years. In 2002, Ed moved to Florida and started working at Nature’s Food Patch. He loves being a buyer and working with local produce markets to get the best fruits and vegetables. In his free time, Ed enjoys spending time in his garden, reading, listening to classical music and visiting with his children and grandchildren.
Grocery Manager
Marian Kalemba -- Marian started at The Patch as a Grocery Clerk in 1994 & became Assistant Grocery Manager in 1996. After a hiatus, Marian returned as our Grocery Manager in Oct. of 2013. He loves being able to make deals with vendors so that everybody can enjoy delicious & healthy food. Marian speaks 4 languages fluently & enjoys the Florida outdoors with his family. They love to kayak, & go biking & fishing.
Grocery Assistant Manager
Perry Sherman -- 

Perry picked working at the Patch in September 2014.  He previously worked with our Grocery Manager for 7 years at another natural grocery store before moving to Nature’s Food Patch. My favorite part of my job is “hooking customers up with products that they have been searching for.” At home, Perry loves growing herbs, peppers, tomatoes, onion and more in his garden. He also enjoys kayaking and hiking.  

Food Service Director
Theo Tillson -- Theo has over 30 years experience in the restaurant industry and has been living the organic lifestyle since 1982. “From the moment I walked into The Patch I felt at home. I love cooking, people and food.” Theo was our Food Service Director from 1997-2002 and returned in 2009. Theo leads our monthly Song Circle with his guitar and vocals. He also likes to write poetry, grow his own veggies in his community garden plot.  

Food Service Manager
Avery Fox -- Avery has been at The Patch since July 2005. She helps manage the kitchen and deli. Prior to joining our team she has held many management positions in restaurants throughout the Tampa Bay Area. She loves working with unique ingredients and whipping up “healthy and yummy” food. Avery loves working in her garden, listening to live music and cheering for her Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
Food Service Manager
Ryan MacManus -- Ryan joined our Patch team in 2014. He brings 24 years of experience with him. “I changed my whole world to a healthier more positive place. I owned a bar that I converted into a health food restaurant in Michigan. A few years later I moved to Clearwater & The Patch! I love coming to work EVERYDAY & that is due to the people I am surrounded by.” Ryan loves music, movies, volleyball, kite boarding and anything in water! 
Meat & Seafood Manager
Jim Donachy -- Jim has been has been with The Patch since February 2013.  He has over 12 year’s of experience in Meat and Seafood. His passion is providing as much local sourced items as possible and sharing information with customers on the latest trends in natural & organic meat & seafood.  Jim is married and the proud father of three daughters. He enjoys gardening, fishing & comic books in his spare time.
Store Policies / Services
Quality Standards

Senior Discounts
Customers over the age of 60 receive a 10% discount on all vitamins and supplements, everyday, if they are not already discounted. Seniors day is the first Wednesday of every month.
Wellness Sale Days
Wellness sale days are the third Tuesday of each month and the Wednesday immediately following. A 20% discount is given on all supplements & body care except those already discounted. Please keep your receipts! Absolutely no vitamin returns without a receipt. No exceptions!!!
Special Ordering
We make every effort to find the product you are looking for. As long as the product is available to us through our distributors, we can order it for you with no extra charge. In fact, you may be able to save money. Please call or visit our store to place a special order.
Full Case Discounts
We give a 10% discount on full cases of non-sale items.
Returned Check Fee
There is a $25.00 fee for returned checks.
Return Policies
If you are unhappy with your purchase in any way, we will make it right for you.
